Mario Kart Tour launched in September for iOS and Android devices and despite launching late in the month. It was the third most-downloaded game within the third quarter of 2019 with 90 million in the first week and nearly 124 million within a month. The mobile racing game no longer tops the charts but Nintendo continues to deliver new features, including a multiplayer mode.
Now live, a real-time beta test for Mario Kart Tour’s multiplayer mode is available for Gold Pass subscribers until December 26th at 9:59 PM. Gold Pass subscriptions are available for $4.99 a month and until its full release, regular free-to-play folks won’t be able to try it out just yet. So if you’re looking to pass the time during holiday parties, subscribers users know exactly where to go.
With any and all beta tests, be warned – there may be connection instability, freezes, bugs, and lag. As it continues development toward its full release, there will be modifications and changes to multiplayer. Nintendo adds, “Therefore, multiplayer save data generation during this beta test cannot be carried over to the full multiplayer release. By playing this beta version, you do so at your own risk and accept that the game may include known or unknown bugs, that your beta-test progress and your multiplayer data in the game may be erased at any time, and that playing this beta test may cause your device’s battery to drain faster than normal and/or operate at slightly higher temperatures.”
